English summary

Main aims and actions:

The overall aim of the project is to prevent the most important threats to great bustard populations within the Carpathian Basin:

  • preventing collisions with power lines by replacing hazardous aerial sections with ground cable
  • population management of nest predators by specific control measures of predatory species within great bustard habitats
  • screening the impact of adverse agricultural technologies, mitigation, awareness raising and education
  • bilateral cooperation to harmonize protective measures in Austria and Hungary
  • demonstrative elements on the species and its conservation targeting the laymen society
